Q4 is nearly upon us - are you ready? ๐
If you have a blog or run a small business, then the time to start preparing for the last quarter of the year is now.
For many businesses, this is the time of year when most sales are made, or most affiliate income is accrued. Don't miss out on that!
Products: Are you ready with the products you want to sell this year? Do you have enough materials (if it's a physical product) or do you have clear outlines for any digital products you want to create?
Blogs: If you are focusing on Halloween or Thanksgiving, the time to post those blogs is now, as they will take some time to rank. Followed shortly by Christmas, New Year and any other seasonal holidays that are important for your business.
Focus on transactional keywords (sometimes known as buyer keywords) in your blogs. These are the ones that tell you someone is ready to buy. Things like 'best point and shoot camera' or 'gifts for dad under $20'. (Relevant to your niche of course).
Social Media: Plan your social media for the next 4 months. You don't need to write every post now, but at least have a clear idea of what's important for you to promote, and when. If Pinterest is one of your main channels, then get those pins out as soon as possible. Halloween is already seeing an upward trend on places like Pinterest and Etsy, and Christmas won't be far behind.
Offers: Create a plan for any sales/offers you are going to run in the final 4 months of the year. Maybe Black Friday or Small Business Saturday are important for you. Don't only think of cutting prices either, maybe you could run a 3 for 2 offer, or bundle products together so people purchase more.
Extra Incentives: In the run-up to Christmas many products purchased will be for gifts. Could you offer a gift-wrapping service or maybe put out a gift guide that is very helpful to your audience?
I'm sending this now as maybe the little nudge that you need to get active - don't worry, I need it too ! It's so easy to miss out on potential sales at this time of year because we are unprepared, so put at least a couple of hours aside to put a plan in place.
Finally, build in some rest time. It's a very busy time of year coming up - in business and at home - so make sure you get enough downtime too.
