This week I read a post from someone - that unfortunately I can no longer find - that ended with the phrase, “at your heart you are peace.”
It really resonated with me because as well as everything going on in my own life - work, rising cost of living, health niggles, etc. - I also feel very weighed down by the news around the world. It’s a lot - and if you dwell too much on it, thoughts can quickly spiral downwards.
But when I heard that phrase, “at heart you are peace” I breathed out a little more and just let go. There is only so much we can control, but at our core we can find peace, and perhaps that’s our main responsibility.
I know, pretty deep for a newsletter about business and online income, eh?
But we don’t exist in a vacuum. We are not just about our work and we have to do those things that help keep us feeling positive.
For me, it’s usually just small things. I am back to walking a lot more and on my journeys the Summer months always offer beautiful flowers. The hollyhocks above were just taken at the side of a busy road.
I’m also focusing more on gentle exercise such as yoga, taking a few minutes each day to sit in the sunshine (when we have it) and after a long time of reading very little fiction, my love for books is returning. I have to say I missed it, after a lifetime of being a bookworm.
What do you do to wind down and take time away from the hustle?

Writing on Medium
I’ve also just shared a post on how I feel I am getting into my stride on Medium - at last! This month has seen me hit two mini goals and it feels good. I have invested very little in Medium in terms of time, but that is changing moving forward.
