Hello
You may have heard of SEO (or Search Engine Optimization) but are you making the most of it in your business?
It sounds scary and techie, but the basics of it are neither of those things, and using the foundations of SEO on your site can help you get found by more people - and more eyes on your website means additional readers, email subscribers and customers.
Plus, if you can get a blog post to rank well on Google, that means people coming to your site with no additional work. I still earn affiliate commissions from blog posts I wrote in 2009.
Ok, so what's the easiest way to start out?
Step one: Do some keyword research using a free tool like Ubersuggest. You are looking for low competition keywords that you have a chance of ranking for.
Step two: Then use those keywords in the title, body and meta descriptions of your blog posts.
Step three: Link between the posts on your own blog, using the targeted keywords.
Can I promise results? No, it depends on the competitiveness of the keywords you have chosen and a number of other factors. However, by writing good blog posts regularly and, in addition, targeting low competition keywords, you give yourself the best chance possible. How do I know? Because I have done it, and I am by no means an SEO expert. I follow simple steps to optimize my results, and I rinse and repeat.
